BEST YOU INTERVIEW BEAT-THE-HEAT BEAUTIFUL FOR WOMEN'S WORLD
-When feet are really sweaty and
slipping out of shoes how can sticking panty liners onto insoles help?
And do you have any other tricks for sweaty feet?
Panty
liners are great as insoles for sweaty feet because they help absorb
the moisture caused by sweaty feet and provide your foot from sliding in
and out of your shoe. There like mini pads for your feet.
I would honestly avoid wearing those shoes so much because that excess sweat
can cause bacteria and itchiness in your feet and in between your toes.
I would carry some antiperspirant wipes with you and dry your feet in
between walking to avoid the sweat from getting
stuck in your toes and causing more discomfort. I would bring a 2nd pair
or alternate pair of shoes to switch out throughout the day to give
your feet a break. Try wearing shoes that absorb moisture or wear socks.
I can't tell you how many gross stories my podiatrist has told me about
women who let their feet sweat and the problems
they have had as a result. When you live in a big city and your wearing
opened toe shoes or sandals you absorb so much of the dirt and dust
from the pavement on a daily basis the last thing you want is add sweat to the equation.
I carry peppermint around with me as both a spray and inhaler. The peppermint helps with migraines with the spray helps absorb sweat
-For chaffing we want to talk about slipping on lacy thigh bands called Bandelettes (https://www.bandelettes.com/) — can you talk about how these help?
A
mix of nylon and spandex bandelettes offer support from chafing while
still remaining fashionable, they prevent chafing while also adding a
little bit of lace detail to thigh highs. These bands offer proper
protection from chafing.
I personally prefer some
kind of shapewear short or body suit. Anything elastic helps keep thighs
in place without rubbing against each other. Any kind of Spanx short is
great it doesn't have to be Spanx brand but any kind of shapewear with
shorts is ideal.
And do you have any other anti-chafing tips when wearing skirts and dresses?
Body
glide or any kind of glide deodorant stick just put on your thighs
before going out. Non talcum powder is great because it soaks up any
moisture as you walk or do outdoor activities.
-To
keep clothes wrinkle-free, can you talk about how a DIY wrinkle release
spray made from water, hair conditioner and white vinegar can help?
Also, can you put this mixture into a travel-size bottle for on-the-go
fixes?
Yes you definitely can put it into on
the go fixes or travel size bottles you just have to make sure you use 3
parts water and 1 part vinegar... I carry a wrinkle releaser spray to
work everyday. It definitely prevents unwanted wrinkles.
Vinegar is a natural home remedy used to remove wrinkles, so not only is it chemical free it's convenient and easy to use.
Just spray your clothes and leave to air dry.
When in doubt bring everything into the shower with you and turn the hot water on in the shower
The
steam and condensation will also smooth out the wrinkles in your
garments. Sometimes if I run out of vinegar I just use water and I make
sure once the garment is wet to run my hands over the garment and dry by
shaking the shirt into the air. It isn't ideal but helps if your in a
pinch.
I also swear by
Joy steamers because they come in small and large sizes making it very
compact and easy to bring with you wherever you go. I usually pack mine
in my carry on when I know I am going to be away for a few days. Just
fill the steamer with water and plug in the steam will do the rest. I
carry the large one to work so I don't have to make multiple trips to
the sink as it holds more water. It comes with a nifty handle bag with
drawstring strap to carry with you as well.
